PrizePicks and Underdog Discords: the maths before you pay

By Karel Moreau, editor of sportspicksdiscord ·

A PrizePicks Discord is a paid community that posts daily player-prop picks for pick'em apps like PrizePicks and Underdog. 17 of the 53 picks communities this site tracks sell props or pick'em plays, at a median of about $77 per 30 days. Before paying for one, know the number that decides everything: on a PrizePicks 2-pick Power Play you need to hit each pick 57.7% of the time just to break even.

The break-even rate on PrizePicks Power Plays

Power Plays pay only if every pick hits. PrizePicks' published multipliers (read from PrizePicks, September 2026, subject to change) and the per-pick hit rate you need to break even:

LineupPower Play paysBreak-even per pickChance at 50/50
2-pick3x57.7%25.0%
3-pick6x55.0%12.5%
4-pick10x56.2%6.2%
5-pick20x54.9%3.1%
6-pick37.5x54.7%1.6%

Compare that with 52.38% on a standard -110 sportsbook bet. Pick'em lineups demand a higher hit rate per pick, which is why the maths of a props Discord is harder than it looks. The sportsbook comparison.

How to judge a props Discord

  1. Ask for the hit rate per pick, not per slip. A service that hits 60% of individual props is doing well; one that only reports winning slips is hiding the denominator.
  2. Check which lineup sizes the record assumes. A 57% per-pick hitter loses money on 2-pick Power Plays but is close to break-even on 5- and 6-pick lineups — or the reverse, if the record is built on flex plays.
  3. Watch for Demons. PrizePicks' boosted "Demon" projections advertise payouts up to 2,000x; they also have lower hit rates, and screenshot wins from them say little about skill.
  4. Correlation is the real edge. Props that tend to hit together (a QB's passing yards and his top receiver's yards) are where genuine pick'em edge lives. Ask whether picks are built around it.
  5. Price it in picks. At a $10 entry, a $77-a-month Discord needs 4 winning 2-pick Power Plays a month just to cover itself.
